Department of Public Security » Office for Coordination and Planning of Police Forces

Interministerial decrees which defined the organisational structure of the Office for Coordination and Planning of Police Forces

The present structure of the office for Coordination and Planning of Police Forces was laid down by the provisions of the Interministerial decree of 8 July 1999, which provides for the organisation of the Office according to the typical scheme of "STAFF" structures. Said decree modified the previous organisation envisaged by the Ministerial decree of 30 March 1989 which provided for the organisation of the Office according to the typical scheme of "LINE" structures.

The decree issued in 1999 brought back the Office's organisational philosophy set out in the interministerial decree of 16 October 1984 on the organisation of the Department of Public Security.

Act No. 82 of 15 March 1991 set up the Secretariat Office of the Central Commission which decides on cooperating witnesses protection programmes.

The decree of 22 March 1994 established the N.SIS Division (National Schengen Information System).
